Pancreatic cancer is a deadly affliction – less than 5% of diagnosed patients survive more than 5 years. One of the best ways to prevent the onset of pancreatic cancer is to be physically active. Cycling is one of the best all around exercises and is easy and affordable for everyone. That is why we chose cycling as the activity for our event. And the distances can be completed by any rider. With just a bit of cycling time, 25 KM is an enjoyable hour to 90 minute excursion. Once you’ve mastered 25 KM, 50 KM is a snap. For those of you who are avid cyclists looking for a challenge, we also offer a full century ride on the opening day as we ride from Mississauga to Cobourg. If that’s still not enough for you, join us for 7 days as we complete a century ride every day.

7 Days In May is designed for riders of all abilities. There are a few aspects to 7 Days In May: a single day riding event featuring rides of 75KM, 100KM and 160KM; a weekend riding event where we ride to Kingston, and a 7 day event where we ride around Lake Ontario. We’ve also launched a shorter ‘Family Ride’ on May 7th to accomodate more beginner and intermediate riders.

Read more about the 2016 ride here.

See below for some more information about the ride:

Single Day Ride: On Saturday May 28th we will have all riders riding the full 160 KM distance to Cobourg leaving from Richard’s Memorial Park in Mississauga Ontario. We also offer two shorter distances: a 75KM, and a 100 KM ride that leave from specified starting areas in Pickering & Whitby respectively. See the next tab for these routes.

Weekend Ride:
Saturday May 28th, and Sunday May 29th. This is a great option for anyone who is interested in riding full days with the group, but perhaps cannot spare any time away from work. This ride follows the routes for Day 1 & Day 2.

7 Days Around Lake Ontario: Saturday May 28th to Friday June 3rd. So one day just isn’t enough for you? You have visions of Le Tour De France, and Paris-Roubaix running through your mind? This is the ride for people who like BIG rides – 7 days around Lake Ontario, and all in the name of raising funds and awareness for Pancreatic Cancer Research. The average daily distance is 160 KM and the ride is fully van supported.

Family Ride: Saturday May 7th. Our family ride is a great alternative for people who may want to ride shorter distances, or who can’t join us between May 28th to June 3rd. Also known as “7 K’s In May” there will be 7, 30, & 60 km options available, and the ride will be followed by a picnic lunch. This is a great chance to help us make a difference for those with pancreas cancer.

Van Support:
The entire ride is van supported with our trusty SAG Wagons. No, they are not frumpy vehicles, rather they are Support And Gear vehicles that follow along with the group. Carefully spaced out, they offer you the food, water, and repair assistance you may require whether you are pushing towards the front of the group, sitting in the middle, or hanging back.
